For those unfamiliar, the **Granblue Fantasy** series started in 2014 as a mobile game. It later expanded with an anime in 2017, but fans have eagerly awaited this full-fledged RPG. Let’s explore if it was worth the wait.

Story

The story follows a group of adventurers aboard their sky-faring ship as they search for a mysterious island called “Estalucia.” The journey begins when the protagonist receives a letter from his father, urging him to find the legendary island.

Along the way, they encounter hostile factions trying to stop them. The story spans around 12-14 hours, with additional epilogue chapters that extend gameplay by another 12 hours, making for a total of roughly 25 hours to experience the full narrative.

While the story is decent, it’s not groundbreaking, as the main focus is on gameplay. However, the cinematic cutscenes are top-notch, rivaling even titles like **Final Fantasy 16.** Additionally, the game includes “Fate Episodes,” text-based stories that provide backstories for each character, enriching the overall narrative.

Gameplay

The gameplay is where Granblue Fantasy: Relink truly shines. The game offers 20 playable characters, each with unique abilities and mechanics, making every character feel distinct.

For example, Io specializes in ranged magical attacks, while Lancelot excels at close-quarters combat. Each character also has a skill tree to upgrade their offensive and defensive abilities, allowing for deep customization.
